    Position Overview

    E3 Federal Solutions has an excellent opportunity to join our high performing Facility Condition Assessment team within the Border Security and Law Enforcement portfolio.   The individual that fits this position is a motivated, organized, and well-spoken professional with a wide breadth and depth of building design and engineering and the International Building Code.  

    This team is responsible for ensuring that the physical infrastructure that supports the US Border Patrol is safe, functions appropriately and meets code.  Traveling frequently to facilities across the country, this team is at the front line of ensuring that the mission of the Border Patrol can be accomplished. 


    E3 is seeking to expand our high-functioning team with a Professional Engineer to provide structural and civil engineering support services.  The ideal candidate will have a background in facilities and will have a degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural engineering.  While a PE is desired, we will consider a candidate that has the background, experience and enthusiasm for the position.

    • As part of the Facility Condition Assessment team, provides technical advice within your area of expertise for key Border Patrol infrastructure along the northern and southern borders of the United States.
    • Identify required materials for facilities observations and surveys.
    • Through visual inspection and hand-held tools, inspect and assess the condition of structural assets and/or components. Identify deficiencies and provide cost estimates through RSMeans to replace or repair the deficiencies. Based on a provided formula, provide an overall risk/condition score for each asset.
    • Based on their structural and facility knowledge, ensure assessment efforts follow all CBP policies and procedures, including but not limited to: roof access, controlled areas, and safety compliance.

    Other Job Responsibilities

    • Ability to walk and stand the majority of a work day.
    • Ability to carry their own tools in the field such as binder/folder, laptop (if needed), camera, Leatherman, flashlight, 12oz drink, etc.
    • Extensive travel with Facility Condition Assessment Team
    • Work with the team to produce reports documenting facility condition on an ongoing basis
    • Experience with RSMeans or similar 

    Required Qualifications

    • Ability to travel 50% of the time
    • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience required
    • US Citizenship is required
    • Bachelor’s Degree required in Civil Engineering/ Structural Engineering/Architecture or similar
    • Experience utilizing Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Ability to receive a DHS Suitability is required 
    • Professional Engineering (PE) certification 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in interpretation of the International Building Code (IBC).
