    Position Overview

    Responsibilities

    • Supports the IMC watch activities during assigned shifts to ensure 24/7 monitoring, collection, dissemination and alerting capability for the client.
    • Researches, analyzes and composes, edits and reviews IMC products.
    • Performs initial analysis of information on questions, issues, or events involving the nation's security of federal owned or leased buildings.
    • Serves as an information source for IMC senior leadership as well as leadership on federal property matters by ensuring two-way information flow between the leadership groups and field elements.
    • Coordinates Watch and Warning functions and communication between leadership groups.
    • Provides time critical notifications and reporting to leadership and security partners via phone or internet based tools during developing incidents.
    • Helps analyze and fuse intelligence from various networks and outlets and collaborates with working partners; disseminates information for situational awareness and brief senior leadership.
    • Responds to urgent and stressful security situations and communicates sensitive information verbally and in writing in a clear, concise and timely manner.
    • Oversees production and accuracy of situational awareness reports – situational awareness reports are generated when an incident or event has actual or potential impacts to critical infrastructure.
    • Serves as initial notification and provides a brief snapshot of current incident/event operations and operational impacts.
    • Coordinates distribution of situational awareness reports to Protective Security Officers (PSOs) and federal/public/private security partners.
    • Builds new or further develops existing relationships within the security community as well as other government and private sector security partners; establishes networks with partners to better facilitate information sharing and collaboration.
    • Helps conduct regular exercises for watch procedures and product development methods to identify and document training needs and areas for improvement for watch teams.
    • Aids with the development of new or modifications for current standard operating procedures and user guides for IMC Watch Operations and other functions within the Agency.
    • Facilitates and fosters an efficient, open and professional work environment with an emphasis on teamwork.

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline OR commensurate combination of education and technical training and equivalent related work experience 
    • Personnel must have a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience within an Operations - Incident Management Center (ICM).
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability clearance.
    • Personnel required to work weekends, nights and/or holidays on an as needed basis.
    • Knowledge of national level policies, to include the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP) and the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS).
    • Knowledge of continuity of government operations (COOP), incident management, and incident response requirements, regulations and policies for verbal, written and internet based transmissions.
    • Mastery of the applications for a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytic techniques for evaluating data.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
