E3 is actively interviewing for a Cyber Analyst to support a requirement with the Department of Homeland Security, National Protection and Programs Directorate, Federal Protective Service


This position is located at 800 North Capitol Street, NW, Washington, DC

  • Experience with improving processes focused on the integration of criminal intelligence and cyber investigations.
  • Experience with managing network security, identity and access management.
  • Support network scanning to identify security vulnerabilities and intrusion detection parameters.
  • Support the implementation of Industrial/Physical security systems assessments and inspections based on regulations and industry standards – new DOD FIPS 201-2 standards, and NIST 800-53.
  • Perform cyber research/analysis of cyber threats and events and evaluates information/physical security systems and practices.
  • Experience with understanding, engaging, and determining a local specialized systems’ safety, performance, and reliability.
  • Provide integrated cyber Intelligence/cyber-technical analytic expertise to customers.
  • Draft informational documents and announcements to inform non-IT and law enforcement personnel.
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of the ISC standard: Risk Management Process for Federal Facilities: Design Basis Threat.



  • Possess one of the following certifications: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Security +, and/or Network +.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field.
  • Possess a working knowledge of tying together the considerations and capabilities of the Internet of Things and physical security systems on federal enterprise systems.
  • Experience with federal security regulations, standards, and business processes including FISMA, DOD FIPS-201-2, and NIST 800-53.
  • Previous experience with developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by translating technical information and guidance into standard operating procedures.
  • Previous federal consulting experience preferably within a law enforcement agency.
  • Experience with the NIST Risk Management framework.
  • Knowledge of the information security risk assessment process.
  • Knowledge of Computer Network Defense and vulnerability assessment tools, including open source tools, and their capabilities.
