    Position Overview

    E3 Federal Solutions seeks an experienced Background Investigator to support their Department of Homeland Security portfolio.  The Background Investigator will have a proven track record of adjudicating Background Investigation (BI) Packages for DHS, ideally within Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and/or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). 

     

    The Background Investigator should be familiar with the DHS requirements, policies and procedures for conducting Background Investigations.  Prior experience within DHC, CBP, ICE or other Federal Organizations is a requirement.  Working closely with our clients, and acting as the face of the Agency, the Background Investigator plays an integral role in the success of E3, our clients and the candidates.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the Investitions of candidates at all levels of clearance within the organization
    • Understand implicitly the legal and policy parameters of the investiations
    • Being able to elicit probative information from those candidates in a tactful, respectful manner
    • Manage the investigations on time with appropriate documentation and communication
    • Stay abreast of all changes to and details of the limitations of the process

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5+ years of experience managing background investigations for a Federal Agency
    • Microsoft Word skills (including templates, styles, macros) and desktop publishing
    • Current DHS Suitability
    • Experience managing and mentoring teams
