    Position Overview

    Provide support within The Department of Homeland Security’s Financial System Modernization Joint Program Management Office (FSM JPMO) Travel Management Branch. This analyst will provide their expertise and in-depth knowledge of travel management systems to assist DHS components with various travel management system related projects.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Provide project assistance, oversight and guidance to DHS components using EGov Travel Systems 2 (ETS2) program and provide expertise with Concur Technologies – ConcurGOV travel management system.
    • Provide assistance in all aspects of financial systems integrations with ConcurGOV. Each DHS component has a unique integration with their respective financial and HR systems.
    • Provide project management guidance and support to DHS components migrated to the new ETS2 system. This includes attending meetings, teleconferences, reviewing and providing feedback on documentation, participating in system testing and as needed provide guidance for the components communication plan and strategy.
    • Provide assistance with any financial system integration issues by facilitating calls/meetings with the travel system vendor and the financial system provider.
    • Provide dedicated support as a “Project Officer” assigned to specific DHS components (e.g. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), etc.)
    • Coordinate activities with the Travel Systems team lead and travel team to ensure consistent information is being shared with DHS customers.
    • Hold standing meetings with the travel management communities to provide status updates to DHS components and to gather issues and risks that need to be addressed at the Executive level.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years of relevant experience
    • Additional 2 years of experience may be substituted for a BA degree
    • 5 years of recent experience as a travel management system professional using and/or implementing products like ConcurGov
    • Prior federal government experience
    • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
    • Working knowledge of key federal stakeholders: OMB, GAO, and Congress
    • Ability to leverage federal resources, working through influence to accomplish deliverables

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Project management experience
    • Understanding of federal financial management
    • Prior knowledge and experience within the Department of Homeland Security and/or components (HQ, DNDO, TSA, USCG, ICE, USCIS)
