Responsibilities

 

Currently seeking a Project Manager to support the Center for Travel and Transportation with travel integration expertise and data standards development. The successful candidate will provide project management and general oversight for project related activities. The candidate must have prior relevant experience providing technical expertise, guidance, and recommendations to:

  • Identify and document unique considerations, challenges, and lessons learned for the integration of travel system(s) to financial management and/or other key travel or business system(s)
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and document Government-wide travel system integration and data standards to address unique considerations, challenges, and lessons learned
  • Analyze existing data sources, and reporting requirements to identify and recommend candidates for travel data standards
  • Facilitate SME working group(s) related to the development of Government-wide standards for travel integration processes
  • Ensure integration standards/processes can be traced back, where appropriate, to appropriate Federal policies
  • Identify policies that pose risks to standardizing travel integration requirements, processes, and criteria, and recommend improvements based on working group inputs.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to requirements to align with travel integration standard recommendations
  • Develop criteria as input to future provider evaluation efforts
  • Recommend travel data standards across all processes, requirements, and criteria
  • Research and track customer agency migration plans to Federal shared services and analyze impacts to existing travel system deployments
  • Work with customer agencies, vendors, and integrating system vendors to review current integration and data solutions and provide advisory support to implementing standard recommendations as they migrate to shared services or otherwise modernize their integration capabilities to take advantage of commercial travel technologies
  • Provide technical advisory support to customer agency configuration or integration updates to implement and adopt travel standard process recommendations
  • Update and maintain data standards and related integration schema(s) for the Center for Travel Management as implemented in existing and future travel information system contracts
  • Develop reporting requirements and evaluate ad hoc queries and reports to meet emerging travel data and/or information needs
  • Support Center for Travel Management coordination with GSA OGP, USSM, and OMB to comply with the Data Act and other government-wide data standardization initiatives (e.g., Data 2 Decision [D2D] )
  • Review travel data system related and other technical vendor deliverables to determine impact to the standards and provide feedback on their acceptability, providing supporting documentation as necessary
  • Conduct market research on new advances in integration, data reporting and travel architecture capabilities, and recommend updates to integration or data standards as appropriate

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience supporting travel management and/or integration efforts
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
  • Knowledge of Travel Management Systems and Implemention
  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite of tools - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access
